Peer Response to Victor Venegas blog , "Build Bridge Not War"

In response to Victor's post  about "Build Bridge Not War", After reading the Victor's blog post about the wall should not be built, I have to agree with his reasoning why this action is causing no more good than harm for the United States. Trump's promise to build the wall has been controversial topic since he became the President. And he has been doing it despite receiving a lot of criticism from the American citizens. I also learn about the fact that the wall won't fix problems such as illegal immigration or, however, it will turn out creating a symbol of segmentation. That will affect the relationship between Mexico and America. It might also create an impact in terms of two country economy as well. Victor also notes that building the wall will cause negative impacts on the environment that will bisect the geographic range and put the endangered animals at risk, and I totally agree with it. Those are the reasons why the wall should not be built, and we sh

Should DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) be Terminated ?

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a program that allows young people who are non-U.S children come to the country and stay permanently under protection from deportation. The program was launched by President Barack Obama in 2012, and it has created a lot of opportunities for children to live, to stay, to work in the U.S for a better life. The program, however, does not provide a pathway to citizenship, and people who enroll in have to extend their status every two years. Since Trump administration put an end mark in 2017, there is no new applicants have been accepted but immigrants who already have status are still able to renew it until the Supreme Court issues a final ruling. Personally, I think that the program should not be terminated due to several reasons below. First of all, in order to receive DACA status, applicants have to go through a long, difficult process including steps of background and criminal records check. Therefore, those are the ones come to this

Peer Response To Estrella Rodriguez Blog, "Should We Impeach Donald Trump ?"

In response to Estrella's post about "Should We Impeach Donald Trump ?", I totally agree with your opinion about how Donald Trump should be impeached. Since he became the U.S president, Donald Trump only acts based on his self-interest, but not for the entire nation and its citizens. It is unacceptable that he abuses his power in order to accomplish his benefits and self-interests. That is investigating opponent Joe Biden and his son which will help him to win the upcoming 2020 election. He also broke a lot of rules as well as violated the U.S Constitution when he used his power to eliminate White House staffers because they are opposed and disagreed with his administration. Clearly, the president should be the one who will be responsible for this country and its citizen, who will put the whole nation's priorities above the self-interests. Yet, President Trump is opposed those standards. The U.S needs a leader who can represents the country, not someone who strongl

Should American Support Trump on his Immigration Policies ?

Immigration is one of the most heated and controversial topics that has been debated over decades in America. It is known that America is a country that is built by immigrants. That is the "dream" land of immigrants from all over the globe. Yet, Trump's "American First" program starts to put an end mark on this land. The administration's new rules creates a huge impact on the U.S immigration policy, especially in refugee and asylum type visa category, as well as H-1B, and migrants at the U.S - Mexico border. Thus, President Trump's actions are opposed with American traditional democracy - a welcoming land for immigrants and refugees. Therefore, we should not support on his immigration policies.    First of all, how Trump handled immigration policies might lead the country to the downside, make it face with more financial and economical obstacles. Limiting the number of legal immigrants from other foreign countries does not make America great again.

In response to the article: Most Republicans and Democrats agree: Immigrants make the U.S. a better place to live by Sarah Parvini - staff writer of The Los Angeles Times news, I would like to point out the statistics and the evidence about the voters that are used in order to support the immigrants side as well as the author’s opinion about how most republicans and democrats agree that immigrants make the U.S a better place. Initially, the author starts off informing the readers about republicans and democrats voters in California agree on the opinion that immigrants helps this country a better place, by giving the percentage of the number of voters who agree on that opinion “ More than 80% of registered voters in the state concur with that opinion, according to the latest UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll conducted for the Los Angeles Times. About 92% of Democrats and 60% of Republicans are in agreement. ” That is the majority number of voters who concur with the

Trump's Administrations on Immigration Problems

In response to the article: Trump Tears Up the Welcome Mat by The Editorial Board of The New Your Times news, I would like to clarify and point out several points the authors made about how Trump’s new administrations have an impact on U.S immigration system, especially on refugees and asylum visa category, the purpose of the article, as well as my opinion about it and Trump’s new administrations. First of all, the authors inform the readers about how president Trump’s latest administration cut down the number of immigrants who are accepted for refugee visa type from 30,000 last year to 18,000 this year. That is a dramatic reduction in terms of visa allowance for asylum and refugee visa seekers. Next, the author made several points about how this administration seems against the traditional American’s democracy throughout “The Trump administration has systematically acted to bar as many refugees and asylum seekers as possible, virtually from its first day, supplanting America’s

Illegal Immigration Rate Continues to Drop in August

Immigration is one of the most controversial topics in America. The US Border Patrol in Central America just released a data of 51,000 people were arrested on the border US-Mexico in August.  According to the data, illegal crossings were dropped around 30% from 71,999 people in July to 51000 in August.  The August numbers show a consistent decline in arrests due to President Trump's new administration. It has pushed numerous controversial policies that help the US border control track down the flow of immigrants arriving at the southern border. Trump also thanked Mexico for its effort to reduce illegal immigrants with the US border patrol, claiming that "they have 25,000 solders right now protecting our border and they've done a fantastic job". This article is informative about how Trump's new administration helps reduce the illegal immigration rates, especially at the US-Mexico border. Furthermore, it also helps increase the protection and partnership between
