Should DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) be Terminated ?
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a program that allows young people who are non-U.S children come to the country and stay permanently under protection from deportation. The program was launched by President Barack Obama in 2012, and it has created a lot of opportunities for children to live, to stay, to work in the U.S for a better life. The program, however, does not provide a pathway to citizenship, and people who enroll in have to extend their status every two years. Since Trump administration put an end mark in 2017, there is no new applicants have been accepted but immigrants who already have status are still able to renew it until the Supreme Court issues a final ruling. Personally, I think that the program should not be terminated due to several reasons below.
