Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a program that allows young people who are non-U.S children come to the country and stay permanently under protection from deportation. The program was launched by President Barack Obama in 2012, and it has created a lot of opportunities for children to live, to stay, to work in the U.S for a better life. The program, however, does not provide a pathway to citizenship, and people who enroll in have to extend their status every two years. Since Trump administration put an end mark in 2017, there is no new applicants have been accepted but immigrants who already have status are still able to renew it until the Supreme Court issues a final ruling. Personally, I think that the program should not be terminated due to several reasons below. First of all, in order to receive DACA status, applicants have to go through a long, difficult process including steps of background and criminal records check. Since he became the U.S president, Donald Trump only acts based on his self-interest, but not for the entire nation and its citizens. It is unacceptable that he abuses his power in order to accomplish his benefits and self-interests.    Immigration is one of the most heated and controversial topics that has been debated over decades in America. It is known that America is a country that is built by immigrants. That is the "dream" land of immigrants from all over the globe. Yet, Trump's "American First" program starts to put an end mark on this land. The administration's new rules creates a huge impact on the U.S immigration policy, especially in refugee and asylum type visa category, as well as H-1B, and migrants at the U.S - Mexico border. Thus, President Trump's actions are opposed with American traditional democracy - a welcoming land for immigrants and refugees. Therefore, we should not support on his immigration policies.    First of all, how Trump handled immigration policies might lead the country to the downside, make it face with more financial and economical obstacles. Limiting the number of legal immigrants from other foreign countries does not make America great again.
